Tim Phlegar Program Director, Land As Your Legacy

Tim Phlegar, MBA, is the director of Nationwide’s Land As Your Legacy® program, a division of the Nationwide Retirement Institute® that aids farmers and ranchers in building transition plans with the goal of keeping the operation intact and suited to transition to the next generation. Additionally, Tim leads the Land As Your Legacy sister program Your Business, Your Legacy, and the Institute Planning Team.

Tim has led the Land As Your Legacy program since 2013 and has over 20 years of financial services industry experience. His family has a long history in farming that dates back generations, and many of his fondest early memories are of his time spent on the family farm. He also was able to see firsthand how the lack of financial and transition planning can affect the stability of a farm operation and its ability to successfully transition from generation to generation.

His experiences have given him the perspective to see the value and rewards that proper planning can bring to agricultural industries.

Tim received a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia State University and a Master of Business Administration from Franklin University. He is a former collegiate soccer player and in his free time serves as the President of the Northwest FC Soccer Club, a nonprofit youth soccer development program in the Columbus area.
