Soaring inflation and rising interest rates have contributed to growing recession fears. With inflation showing no signs of slowing, the Federal Reserve, as expected, raised its policy rate by 75 basis points in September. But another uncomfortably high inflation reading last month will likely mean another supersized rate hike when they meet again in early November. Investors wonder if the Fed is nearing the end of its rate-hike cycle as the fourth quarter gets underway.
